–  Meshing with Duncan is the easiest part of Aldridge’s adjustment  (from Jeff McDonald,  expressnews.com):

“They play a certain style, and I have to change my mindset in certain ways,” said Aldridge, who averaged at least 21 points in each of his final five seasons in Portland. “And that’s fine. I think it’s going to be fine on both sides.”

Other Spurs find questions about how the team’s two star big men might fit together to be comical.

“They’re two very good players,” point guard Tony Parker said. “They’ll figure it out.”

–  If your NBA team is horrible, will it own (or owe) its first-round pick?  (from Zach Harper, CBS Sports):

” With the NBA preseason starting, the hopes of fans around the league are high. A lot of people are talking themselves into this being their year to surprise the rest of the league, and for some fans and teams that will be true. However, the stark truth of it all is some teams will suck, either because they simply aren’t good enough or due to season-crushing injuries.

Your hopes and dreams of a 2015-16 Cinderella story will have an M. Night Shyamalan twist that nobody likes. Because of that, it’s important to know just how much attention you should be paying to college basketball scouting and the draft throughout the year. You also need to know if your team has its first-round pick, and if not, why did it go away? Are there protections on the first-round pick that should be kept in mind just in case the dreaded “tanking” word starts to motor its way into your arena?

Here’s a quick and easy rundown of each team’s first-round pick situation heading into next summer”

We at Hoops Rumors will be chatting with beat writers from around the league and sharing their responses to give you a better perspective on how and why teams make some of their most significant moves.

Today’s Best NBA Reporting and Analysis

–  Film Room: Lance Stephenson Edition  (from Justin Russo,  clipsnation.com):

” Last season was such a shock to the system of Lance Stephenson that it went down as one of the worst shooting seasons in the history of the NBA. He’s one of just six players ever to log at least 1500 minutes in a season, attempt 100 threes, and still finish with an Effective Field Goal Percentage of under 40 percent. Out of those six, he’s the only guy to ever have a True Shooting Percentage under 42 percent, as well. However, despite all of that, Stephenson can still be a positive contributor to a team if he can get back to doing the things that he excels at. In this edition of the Film Room, we’re going to examine some of those very things.
